Deputy Headteacher

Full time, permanent, salary: L8 to L12 required for September 2024

Overfields Primary School are looking to appoint a strong and experienced leader as our new Deputy Headteacher.

We are seeking to appoint a Deputy Headteacher who:

  • Has a passion for teaching and learning, with an excellent record of classroom practice and the highest expectations of pupils’ attainment and behaviour. 
  • Is able to demonstrate strong leadership and interpersonal skills and use these to inspire and support colleagues in order to build on the many strengths of our school.
  • Can think strategically and creatively and support the Head teacher and Governing Body to take forward initiatives in the next stage of the school’s development.
  • Is a confident user of IT, with successful experience of using data and assessment to maximise outcomes.
  • Has a positive and caring attitude with a desire to overcome any challenges that arise. The Deputy will play a key role in our safeguarding team as a deputy DSL.
  • Will be highly visible and approachable to the whole school community and prepared to go the extra mile for our children, staff, governors and our families.

Caretaker

Grade/Salary:  Grade C, SCP 5-6

Hours:  20 hours Term Time plus 3 weeks

Contractual Status:  Permanent (subject to 6 month probationary period)

Required for:  September 2024 or earlier if required checks are completed

Overfields Primary School wish to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Caretaker who can make a difference and would like to be part of a successful team. The successful applicant will undertake a key role at Overfields Primary, in ensuring that the school is a safe, clean and pleasant learning environment for our staff, pupils and visitors. 

The successful applicant will work under the direction of the School Business Manager and be able to assess, carry out and supervise small building tasks.  They will assess situations across school to minimise risks to staff, visitors and pupils.  They will be physically able to meet the demands of the job and undertake minor maintenance tasks.

We require a caretaker who is:

  • Committed to ensuring EVERY child achieves to their full potential, through maintaining a safe, secure, clean and inviting site.
  • Willing to work as part of a hard-working, dedicated team reporting to the School Business Manager.
  • Positive, proactive and an excellent role model.
  • Willing to work flexibly to meet the school’s needs.
  • Has good practical skills for effective operation of site services such as cleaning, porterage, decorating, minor repairs and maintenance
  • Be an active member of school life and actively subscribe to the ethos of the school.

Lunchtime Supervisory Assistant

Grade/Salary:  Grade A+ SCP 2

Hours:  5 hours per week, term time only

Contractual Status:  Permanent (subject to probationary period)

Required ASAP

Overfields Primary School wish to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Lunchtime Supervisory Assistant to join the current team at Overfields Primary School. Duties will include supervising children, both in the dining hall and playground, leading play activities and ensuring the safety, wellbeing and good behaviour of all our children.  Ideally, the successful candidate will have experience of working with children within the primary age group.
