Welcome to Reception

Meet the Staff

Mrs Wilson – Class Teacher

Mrs Thomas – EYFS Teaching Assistant

What will my child do in Reception?

Play is a very important part of your child’s development and most learning will be introduced through a mixture of carefully planned play and some adult-led, focused activities. There will also be opportunities for your child to choose activities that appeal to them, following their own particular interests.

Don’t be too concerned if your child says that they have been playing all day – they are learning in a fun and enjoyable way!  As the Reception year progresses, the learning may start to become more formal and you will start to see your child beginning to read and write!

On this page, you will find useful information about what we will be teaching throughout the year. You will also find the latest class newsletter which gives you an overview of the current topic as well as how you can support your child with their learning at home.
